Hilary Selznick is a PhD candidate in English Studies at Illinois State University. Her research interests include disability studies, medical rhetorics, creative nonfiction/life writing, and trauma theory. She is especially interested in the intersections between the field of Rhetoric and Composition and Creative Nonfiction, and in the study of illness and disability, memoir, and rhetorics of the body. In addition, she is interested in how the medical field contributes to normalizing discourses. Hilary received her MFA in Creative Nonfiction at Western Michigan University. Her creative work has appeared in Passages North, Brevity, and New South.
